On November 2, 2008, the DETERMINE Trial hosted a Cardiac MRI Symposium and Coordinator's Meeting at Chicago’s O’Hare Hilton.

The symposium brought together several leading MRI physicians with expertise in cardiac MR imaging from hospitals around the United States providing attendees with updates on the latest scientific and technological advances in cardiac MRI. Also discussed was the current status of the DETERMINE trial as well as future initiatives.

Representatives of cardiac MRI vendors from Siemens, Philips and GE conducted individual breakout sessions demonstrating the most effective scanning techniques related to the DETERMINE trial image acquisition protocol.

The DETERMINE Trial will enroll approximately ten thousand people across the United States with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) to help find other methods for identifying those who may be at risk for developing abnormal heart rhythms that might result in Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD). More information about the trial can be found on the study website at www.determinetrial.com
