Mary SchullerAdministrative Manager | Mary Schuller joined the Department of Surgery in February 2008. She is responsible for managing the Division of Surgical Education. Among her activities, she collaborates with surgery faculty members to efficaciously integrate educational technologies into their teaching of surgery residents and clerkship students. Prior to joining the department she worked at Northwestern University’s Division of Information Technology and served as the Manager of Faculty Support Services. In that capacity she was responsible for the support and training of Northwestern University faculty members in the use of a variety of web-based and desktop educational technologies. Ms. Schuller holds a MSEd from Northwestern University and a BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. | |
Clare BroadMedical Student Clerkship Coordinator | Clare Broad joined the Surgical Education team in June 2009. Clare organizes, among other things, orientation, rotations, and exams for the Surgical Clerkship. Prior to joining the Department, Clare completed her degree in Business Administration and graduated from St. Norbert College in 2009. |

Noreen CorcoranHousestaff Coordinator | Noreen Corcoran joined the Surgical Education team as the Housestaff Coordinator in April, 2008. In this role, Noreen oversees our ACGME accredited general surgery residency program. Some of the major responsibilites include recruitment, orientation, graduation and rotation scheduling. Prior to joining the Department, Noreen worked as the General Surgery Housestaff Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh for eight years, thus bringing years of experience with her here to Chicago. Noreen holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Public Policy & Managment from the University of Pittsburgh. | |
Danielle HoltzAssistant Housestaff Coordinator | Danielle Holtz joined the Surgical Education team in October 2009 as the Assistant Housestaff Coordinator. Danielle coordinates resident conferences, organizes evaluations of residents and staff, and performs verifications for graduates of our residency program. Prior to the Department of Surgery, Danielle was the Education Assistant at Chicago Shakespeare Theater and a Teaching Artist for Columbia College’s Center for Community Arts Partnership. She graduated from Kent State University with a B.A. in Theatre in 2006. | ![]() |
Julie RandolphAdministrative Assistant | Julie Randolph joined the Surgical Education team in December 2006 as the Assistant to Debra DaRosa, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair of Education. Additionally, Julie supports Surgical Education projects and is the website coordinator for the Department. Prior to joining the Department, Julie was employed for five years as a Case Manager in the field of addiction and mental health services in Norwich, Connecticut. Julie graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2002 with a B.A. in Sociology. | ![]() |
